FIBA support to Tiruvalla Medical Mission
As part of its outreach ministry, The Fellowship of Indian Brethren Families in North America (FIBA) has been involved with several compassionate programs, to support the needy and underprivileged believers, especially in the native land of India.
Focus TMM was a project undertaken a year ago by the outreach team of FIBA to support Tiruvalla Medical Mission Hospital (TMM). TMM had been serving the community through many compassionate care programs that benefits not only many evangelists toiling in His vineyard for the expansion of His kingdom but also many low income families.
The goal was to raise funds to assist TMM which was in need of funds to upgrade some of their equipment and also to provide financial aid to some of the nursing students who come from low income families. FIBA initiated this campaign in the USA and Canada, keeping this need of TMM in view. The then President of FIBA, Dr. Sam George and Secretary Roy Mathew took special interest in making this project a reality. Through the generous contributions of committed individuals and assemblies in the US and Canada, FIBA was able to raise funds equivalent to US$14,000.
FIBA representatives Mr. Santosh Abraham (Treasurer) and Mr. Saji Abraham (EC member) were able to hand over the funds to Tiruvalla Medical Mission authorities at a function organized at TMM Chapel on 29th March 2016, during their visit to Kerala. Mr. George Mammen Kondoor, Vice Chairman, District Panchayat inaugurated the ceremony and TMM College & School Board President Bro. George Koshy Mylapra presided over the function.
Chairman Col. (Rtd.) Alex Varghese expressed great appreciation for the FIBA initiative and shared about the latest developments at TMM. The hospital is being awarded the prestigious NABH accreditation for quality in all areas by the Govt. of India. TMM is the first hospital in Tiruvalla and its surroundings to obtain such a great recognition.
Mr. Santosh Abraham (Treasurer, FIBA) explained to those present, the vision, mission and ministries of FIBA in North America and also in India. Reaching the unreached with the gospel of the Jesus Christ and becoming a blessing to those who are in need are among FIBA’s goals in addition to the spiritual growth and edification of families in North America through conferences and retreats. He handed over a cheque for Rupees Six Lakhs (Rs. 600,000) to Mr. Peter Joseph (Vice Chairman) for modernization of hospital equipment.
Mr. Saji Abraham (FIBA) also addressed the audience and used the occasion to explain the details of the project that FIBA undertook to support the students from low income families to achieve their life goals. He mentioned that the Lord our God has been merciful to us and FIBA is privileged to extend the blessing to others in need as well. He expressed the desire that these students will complete their education, become the much needed support to their families and at the same time instrumental in spreading the gospel. He handed over a cheque for Rs. 3 lakhs (Rs. 300,000) to Mr. Regi Sam Cherian, (Secretary, CoN) towards Nursing scholarship Fund. Benny Philip and Abraham Thomas also spoke in the function.
The meeting concluded with a message from the word of God by Evg. PS Thampan who spoke about the need of demonstrating faithful stewardship in everything that the Lord entrusted to our care, your time, wealth and health.
The executive committee of FIBA is grateful to the individuals and assemblies who extended their hands towards this worthy cause, without which this project would not have been accomplished.. May the good Lord continue to bless us to be vessels in His hands to accomplish His divine purposes on the earth till He comes!
